In our last post we shared some facts on How To Talk So Women Will Listen, i couldn’t possibly leave out the boys now could i?
So in this post we’re also going to provide some points on ‘How To Talk So Men Will Listen’, and yes us men do know how to listen, you just have to know how to have communicate with us which is what i’ll be sharing with you now.
Here are a few rules which also have been formulated from tests and scans done on the ‘great’ male brain.
1. Give Facts and Info
Provide or show solutions to problems, also giving facts and testimonials can also be effective. Don’t try… actually, just don’t worry about emotional pleas, men prefer to get straight to the point so instead of emotional please, just prove your point.
2. Speak Direct
Instead of speaking ‘indirectly’ as you do with women, its the opposite for men. Men uses shorter sentences then women however they contain more facts and solutions. Don’t try to hint things, just say what you mean and again, get to the point.
3. Poker Face
If you make too many facial expressions when listening to us men talk, we might think you’re not all there (having emotional or mental problems). Hold a serious and interested expression when listening to men talk and make listening sounds to encourage the conversation. Use sounds like ‘uh-huh…’, ‘I see…’, ‘um-humm’, ‘hmmm’, ‘yeah, yeah?..’ to encourage men to continue speaking.
4. Let The Man Talk
Again this is being opposite to women. Speak or Listen! its one or the other for men, unlike women who speak, listen, put on make up, read the paper, send a text msg all at the same time. Have you noticed how when us men talk to each other, we take turns to talk. Just let him finish his sentence and whatever you do, Don’t Interrupt!
5. One Thing At A Time Please
The easiest way to put it is, picture a mans brain like an apartment block divided into little rooms. Each room is being stored and used for different reasons and containing functions. The term used for this is, a mans brain is ‘compartmentalized’. Take it easy and deal with one thing at a time and don’t give a man multiple tasks or don’t multi-track with a man.
Well there you have it, Speaking so Mars and Venus will listen. Keeping these points in mind, the next time your with a prospect of any sex, at least you’ll know how to talk so they’ll listen!
